Panoramic circular hike from Platten to Plattner Spitze, combining spectacular mountain views, the picturesque Plattner Lakes and a relaxing stop at Plattner Alm.

The varied circular hike to Plattner Spitze starts in Platten near Pfalzen and is considered one of the most impressive summit tours in the southern Puster Valley. Right from the start, the trail climbs steadily through peaceful, shaded forest sections towards the extensive alpine meadows of Stockpfarrer. Step by step, magnificent views of the surrounding mountains unfold, creating a sense of alpine openness and tranquility from the very beginning.

From the alpine pasture area, the route follows the markings of the well-known Pfunderer High Trail (Pfunderer Höhenweg). The trail continues along a broad and scenic ridge towards Sambock at 2,398 m. This section is particularly captivating thanks to its spectacular panoramic views. The scenery stretches across the mountains of the Southern Alps and accompanies hikers throughout the ascent. The varied combination of alpine meadows, rocky passages and panoramic high-altitude trails gives this tour its distinctive appeal.

Along the way, Plattner Alm invites hikers to enjoy a pleasant break and sample regional specialties amidst the stunning mountain landscape. Located directly on the circular route, the alpine hut is an ideal place to relax and recharge.

Higher up, the terrain becomes increasingly alpine. Rocky trail sections require sure-footedness and a head for heights, but reward hikers with an especially memorable mountain experience. Upon reaching the summit of Plattner Spitze at 2,439 m, an impressive 360-degree panorama opens up. The striking peaks of the Zillertal Alps, Ötztal Alps and Stubai Alps can be admired alongside the distinctive rock towers of the Dolomites, which are particularly spectacular on clear days. This unique view makes the tour a special experience for nature lovers and mountain enthusiasts alike.

The descent leads to the idyllic Plattner Lakes at around 2,250 m. Nestled within a peaceful alpine landscape, these mountain lakes offer a stunning natural setting and invite hikers to take a short break. During the summer months, alpine roses and a variety of mountain flowers transform the surrounding slopes into a colorful spectacle, adding even more charm to the hike.

The circular route then continues along a partly steep forest trail back to the starting point at the Tierstaller-Hof parking area, bringing this impressive mountain hike to a rewarding conclusion.

natural idyll, 2250 meters above sea level. Rhododendrons and other alpine flowers are true pleasures, for which you should take plenty of time. The finale of this impressive circular walk is the steep forest road before you reach the car park at the Staller animal farm again. Refreshments: Plattner Alm
