The snowshoe hike on the Cima Lasta/Astjoch Peak (2,194 m) is one of the most rewarding things to do in the area. The magnificent summit view of the surrounding mountains is simply impressive.

Parking Kreuzner in Ellen
Directions
Starting point is the car park Kreuzner in Elle/Ellen. From there, the trail no. 67 leads in about one hour to the Kaser huts. After a total hike of two hours, the peak of Astjoch is reached from the east side. Descent on the west side and follow trail no. 67B to the Starkenfeld hut and the Rastner hut at the Rodenecker Alp. After a short ascent walk back down to Ellen.

From Bruneck take the train, the citybus 420.2, the regular bus 401 odr 460 to St. Lorenzen bus station. From here take the regualar bus 424 to Ellen - bus stop Kreuzner.

Public transport from Mobility Center Bruneck/Brunico: With the train or the bus 460 to St. Lorenzen/San Lorenzo, bus stop Bahnhof/Stazione, and after with the town Citybus 424 to Ellen/Elle, bus stop Parkplatz/Parcheggio Kreuzner.
