Cycling and mountain biking

Cycle more conveniently, with greater flexibility and a full service!! Radfahren Bruneck

“Cycling in the national parks of the Puster Valley” is a project in conjunction with the Puster Valley district association and the Italian environment ministry. The aim of the project is to establish a multi-commune cycling network to promote cycling, whilst at the same time enhancing the enjoyment of Puster Valley’s national parks

Between Innichen and Mühlbach rental and service stations have been set up in almost every commune. These give the cyclist the unique opportunity to hire a cycle from or return it to any rental or service station, so that the entire route from Innichen to Mühlbach (including side valleys) can be ridden conveniently and in any order that the cyclist chooses.

Why not discover the region by bike or mountain bike? The possible tours from Bruneck are many and varied, with easy round trips and more difficult routes for experienced cyclists. We have selected 3 superb, recommended trips for you:

Circular tour around Bruneck:

The tour leads around the town of Bruneck starting outside the tennis stadium. This round trip offers an impressive overview of the lie of the town and also of the mountains of the Dolomites and Zillertal Alps. At 26 km the route is not very long, but it demands a certain level of fitness in order to be able to overcome the 725 m of climbs.

Tesselberg:

Starting from Bruneck (tennis stadium) the route heads towards Olang and then upwards to the town’s mountain ridge. You’ll be rewarded with a fabulous view over the town, the Kronplatz and the best known mountains in the Dolomites. Route is 28 km long with 890 metres of climbs.

Herzlalm:

Radfahren Kronplatz

Starting at the valley station of the gondola in Reischach the route leads over the woody northern slope to the cultivated Herzl Alp where visitors are invited to pause for a while. At almost 20 km in distance and relatively low height differences the trip is also suitable for less well-practiced cyclists. If you would prefer to ride in a more leisurely fashion, we recommend the cycle trail from Bruneck to Sand in Taufers (15 km) and from Reischach via Riedwald forest to Niederolang (8 km).
