 1. Ursulinenchurch

At the beginning of the 15 th century built in Gothic styl, the gate was demaged in the year 1758 because of the transportation of a big foutain into the city; the paintings come from Johannes of Bruneck around 1420. The crypt Is the oldest part of the convent’s building and dates back to the time around 1410. The crypt is almost empty, but it is indeed full of atmosphere, sanctified for centuries by the silence of the dead resting in peace.

 
 2. War Cemetery
One of the most impressive attractions the town has to offer is the War Cemetery. During World war I there were several military hospitals in Bruneck, in which many wounded and sick soldiers and prisoners of war died.

 3. Castel of Bruneck
No matter which way you approach the town, you always see the beautiful big castle which was built by a bishop.

 4. Rainchurh on the castel-hill

A lovely church at the foot of the castle hill, redecorated in Baroque style in 1675. Beautiful onion tower with interesting coats of arms.

 
 5. City Narrow Street

The picturesque narrow street, with mostly medieval character and four gates with interesting paintings. The eastern city gate "Rain Gate" and/or "Unterrainer gate" ( 6.) leads in the upper city ( 7. ), wich  becomes mastered by the "Sternbach Palace" ( 8. ). In the upper town of Bruneck you can find The Mariensäule (Lady-column), made by the Brixen artist Michael Rasner (1661 - 1725)  and commissioned by Anton von Wenzl, Freiherr von Sternbach, in 1716.

 
 9. Parischurch

Bruneck's parish church, with valuable crucifix made by Michael Pacher and the Mathis organ built in 1983, the biggest in the South Tyrol. Near the church, in the Mühlgasse.there is a Fresko.

 
10. Town Museum
The Bruneck town Museum was opened in 1995 in the restored and converted post stables in which horses were fed and post coaches were kept at the ready for travellers in past centuries.

 11. "Spital" church to the holy spirit

A Beautiful, renovated churche of baroque, built in the middle of the 14th century. Baroque representation of the baptism of Jesus Christ from Franz Unterberger (1707 - 1776).

 
 12. Monastery church

Monastery of the Kapuziner and the church of theme, kept in a very simple from for the purposes of the order.

If you go straight ahead, direction Dietenheim, at the fork, you find a Bildstöckl (wayside shrine) one of the oldest and most beautiful in the Tirol.

 
 13. The Florianitor (town gate)

Formerly called "Lucke"(gap), bears a painting made by the South Tyrolean artist Rudolf Stolz (1874-1960) showing Saint Florian, Bruneck`s coat of arms and the town’s founder, Bishop Bruno. In the Florianigasse you find also The Saint Florian a work of the Bruneck artist Josef Bachlechner (1871 - 1923)

 
On the "Graben"

Dr. Eduard von Grebmer zu Wolfsthurn was born in Bruneck in 1821. He was elected mayor in 1861, then he became a member of the Imperial Council in Vienna and of the regional diet of the Tyrol. In 1869 he was named head of the local government of the Tyrol by the Emperor. Eduard von Grebmer died in 1875; a few years later the citizens of Bruneck erected a monument on the "Graben" as a sign of gratitude for his great merits in favour of the town and the whole region.
